M-PICO 1-ps 4-Watt 1030nm Picosecond Laser Oscillator

This short-pulse picosecond laser generates multi-Watt output at a modelocked pulse duration of 0.7 … 2 ps (set at factory).  It is an integrated, hermetically sealed Ytterbium solid-state laser, which is pumped by an external fiber-coupled laser diode (see for example the LDC-1000-980-HP Laser Diode & Controller model).

Based on an Ytterbium-doped solid state laser crystal, this ultrafast laser generates pulsed, modelocked operation in a robust and self-starting way.  The pulses are 0.7 ... 2 ps long (set at factory) and show excellent stability with respect to noise, modelocked-Q-switching instabilities and double pulsing.  Modelocking is initiated by a Semiconductor Saturable Absorber Mirror (SeSAM) optimized for 1-ps-operation.  The laser is pumped by the external, fiber-coupled laser diode.

Requires LDC-1000-980-HP Laser Diode & Controller model (not included), or equivalent.

Applications include pumping of picosecond OPOs, seeding of amplifiers, etc.
