With an Ytterbium-doped solid state laser crystal at its heart, this laser generates sub-100-fs pulses with excellent stability and robustness with respect to noise, modelocked-Q-switching instabilities and double pulsing.  Modelocking is initiated by a Semiconductor Saturable Absorber Mirror (SeSAM) optimized for sub-100-fs operation, resulting in self-starting pulsed operation.   The soliton-modelocking mechanism results in stable and spectrally clean pulses with a sech² pulse shape.  The laser is pumped by the external, fiber-coupled laser diode.

Requires  LDC-1000-980-LP laser diode and controller (not included), or equivalent.

Applications include seeding of amplifiers, pumping of OPOs, super-continuum generation, ultrafast spectroscopy, Terahertz generation, nano surgery & machining, etc.
